AMECOOP (Asociación de Mujeres Empresarias de Cooperativas) is a group of women from Madrid who share the following features: they are women, they are partners and/or active workers in co-operatives, they believe in co-operative projects and women’s role within them. AMECOOP is an open space for encounter, communication and debate -from a gender perspective- regarding economy and employment, where all women may find their own space.

Then, we are a non-profit entity with an aim of promoting women’s participation in co-operatives and, consequently, in the socioeconomic realm.

AMECOOP, set up in 1998, takes part in projects financed jointly by the European Social Fund and Comunidad de Madrid. It develops co-operation development projects with women members of co-operatives and works closely with Unión de Cooperativas Madrileñas de Trabajo Asociado (UCMTA); besides, it is also part of the International Co-operative Aliance.
